Welcome! |
|
We are now
recruiting new members! Our mission is to improve the
status of women
|
Zonta is an international service club, founded in the United States in 1919. Our founders, business women in Buffalo, New York, were invited by male colleagues to a Kiwanis Christmas Party. They soon learned that the goals of community improvement were ones they shared with the men, but in those days, Kiwanis didn't invite women. So our founders started their own service club. The welfare of girls and women, and the cause of peace, have motivated our efforts ever since.
Today, Zonta International is headquartered in Chicago. The Zonta Club of Boise was chartered in 1952. We join over 65,000 other women in 68 countries around the world. Together, we are strong and can exert an influence in this world. Join your energies and ideals with those of the best women in the world!
Projects: Women's Issue Forums <> Women and Children's Alliance <> Literacy <> Scholarships to women students at Boise State University Business School <> Spirit of the American Women Awards <> Young Women in Public Affairs Essay Competition (high school women) <> Court Watch: Domestic Violence.
WE MEET: On the second Tuesday of the month at noon at the office of our president in the Veltex Building, Fifth and Main streets, Boise. We have fellowship and program meetings once a month at selected locations. If we're engaged in a project, committee members meet at their convenience.
